An audio cassette is an analog magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and playback. It was developed by Philips in Hasselt, Belgium and released in 1962. Micro Audio Cassette was introduced by Olympus in 1969. It uses the same magnetic tape as regular Cassette tapes. The Vinyl Records co-existed with the phonograph cylinder from the late 1880s and has been around since 1912. By 1980s, CDs was gaining popularity and records have left the mainstream market in 1991.
